I am on a team of three (along with scholar Lynne Gerber and podcaster Ariana Nedelman) currently producing an historical project broadly on religion, AIDS, and community. “When We All Get to Heaven” is a documentary podcast that tells the story of how one of the first gay-positive churches, the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco, faced the personal, social, and political trials of the AIDS epidemic. We plan to release the series beginning in December 2020. The photo above is of an Easter Bonnet created by one of the members of the church for the annual parade.

It is only recently that I started expanding into the world of audio documentary production. It first began in the classroom as I started using documentary production as a storytelling method for an environmental sociology course (Here is a site of some fantastic digital stories created by my students). In 2017 I trained with Transom radio. I am deeply committed to creating work for public consumption that challenges simple ideas of the world around us.
